OUR FOUNDER
Our Founder Mr. Gnana Samarathunga began his career as a planter in 1964. Reaching the position of superintendent within a period of ten years at Ms Whitall Bousted PVT LTD Tea estates.
Mr. Samarathunga made a bold decision to move into the hospitality industry in 1979, working in the Hotel &Travel trade, followed by becoming Director Marketing and Sales Le Meridien Hotel. His leadership married with his ethics and integrity has ensured his success. Mr. Samarathunga’s experience on and off the field contributes to his leadership when he decided to start his own business for the professional catering industry under Waverley Pvt Ltd. His visionary leadership style and his exceptional work ethics has set the company on the road to success.
Mr. Gnana Samarathunga attributes his 30 year experience at Waverley to be a result of his belief in Gerald Fords wise words, which are “To be truthful, work hard and turn up for dinner on time”
